Motivation in Learning of Mathematics and Entrepreneurial Skills Development in a Contemporary Society

Abstract

The paper focuses on motivation in the learning of mathematics and entrepreneurial skills development in a contemporary society. The paper elaborated motivational roles the Government, teachers, parents and students plays in the learning of mathematics and how it affects entrepreneurial skills development in a contemporary society. This paper looked into budgetary allocation of the Government of Nigeria toward the educational sector; it also looked at some variables that hinder motivation of teachers and students in learning Mathematics. Finally, the study elaborated on the important role parents play in the motivation of their children, towards the learning of mathematics. This paper concluded that the Government takes greater blame on the issue of poor motivation of students in learning of mathematics.
