Role of Business Education skill in Entrepreneurship Development of Graduates in Rivers State Universities

The study investigated the role of business education skill in entrepreneurship development of graduates in Rivers State Universities. The objectives of the study were to determine the role of business management skill, accounting skills and office and information skills in entrepreneurship development. The study was carried out in Rivers State.
The universities offering business education in Rivers State were concerned with the study. The design used in carrying out the research was a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised all business education lecturers and postgraduate students in the three universities in Rivers State The instrument used for the study was a self-constructed questionnaire structured in four points rating scale of Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree and Strongly Disagree. The instrument was validated by experts while the reliability of the instrument was carried out
using test and retest method. The reliability process resulted to a coefficient of 0.802. Mean and standard deviation was used to analyze the data gathered on the research question. z-test statistics was used to test hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The study found that that business education skills such as business management skills, accounting skills and office and information skills plays vital role in the entrepreneurship development of business education graduates in Rivers State Universities. The study recommended that Government should ensure that departments of business education are duly funded and equipped with adequate business laboratory for hands-on experience
