Abstract

All over the world, women’s education has been neglected for long. This neglect has its foundation in the strong
and cherished age-old belief in men’s superiority and women’s subordination. In attempt to expand more effort at
addressing the problem of women education in Nigeria, this paper buttressed the facts that Nigeria can go a long
way to solve the daunting problems. Essentially, Education is foremost cornerstone for empowering women
because it helps them to responds properly to the hurdles, to encounter their conventional role and modify their
life. The value of education in reference to women empowerment cannot be neglected because it is the most
effective way to fight global poverty and radicalism. Finally, the paper suggested amongst others that the
economic benefits of addressing and reducing barriers to women‘s education and engagement in the workforce
can be significant inasmuch as compounded geographical and social disparities should be jettisoned.
