The study examined quality assurance strategies and instructional delivery in universities in Rivers State. The study
was guided by three research objectives from which three research questions and hypotheses were drawn. The
correlational design was used for this study. The population of the study was 6,252 academic staff of the three public
universities in Rivers State. The sample size of this study was 407 academic staff of the three universities under study.
Simple random sampling technique was used in selecting 6.5% of the population of each school to arrive at the sample
size. The instrument used for data collection in this study was a self-designed questionnaire tagged “Quality Assurance
Strategies and Instructional Delivery Questionnaire”. The validity of the instruments was determined by two experts
in measurement and evaluation, Rivers State University. A test of internal consistency was conducted using Cronbach
Alpha method to establish the reliability of the instruments. A cumulative reliability coefficient of 0.85 was obtained
which showed the instrument was reliable. The research questions were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment
Correlation statistics while the hypotheses were tested by transforming the coefficient of correlation (r) to t. The
findings of the study revealed among others that there is a high and positive relationship between monitoring,
supervision and professional development as quality assurance strategies and instructional delivery in universities in
Rivers State. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended among others that management of universities
